| I read a few post of people asking when they would get their actual cert/diploma.
I got mine today,,plan on framing it soon just so I can begin hanging my akolades/ackolaides in my office,,when I get one,,,if I get one.
I also got a credit card sized copy of my certification for my wallet obvioiusly.
For those who will be getting their certs in the mail,,,don't fret,,it will be there in no time.

| congrats...
just curious, how long did it take for you to do preparations (i.e. studying) before you sit for the exam? | |

| well that's kind of a hard question to answere. Not really,,,I just did not want to take this exam for a 2cnd time,,so I made sure I had most resources.
I studied for about 4-5 months loosely,,while at work,,during breaks,,off days and during the evenings,,,about to take the test and some personal things came up,,had to postpone test. 2 months later,,,,
I forgot alot of the material,,,and began studying again for maybe one more month everyday about 2-4 hours. and the last 2 weeks before test,,studied at least4-6 hours a day. last week eased up, took many practice test and many overviews and focused on weak areas.
In all, I read Todd L's book maybe 3-3,1/2 times over,(maybe one of the best books I read) and his study guide/notes. Cisco press book once (very hard to grasp/to detailed), CCNA for dummies 2-times, kinda the funnest one to read. I read 1/2 of syngress which is overlooked moreover and ExamCram's studyguide 2-times. Bosen,"Exam Essentials" without would not have passed.
In Heinsight/If I had to do it again I would purchase; 1.Todd L's book/study guide/notes.
2.Exam Essentials 5.5
3.Exam Cram's study guide
4.Topped with Syngress.
This test is not a breeze! It is a breeze if you know your stuff. I finished the test in about 15-mins and that was taking my time. I read every question at least except the ones I knew without a doubt.
I will tell you this because this is important. I did not feel as though I was ready to pass the test, even the night before. So I stayed up all night studying my weak areas trying to hammer in the concepts that I did not know. Feeling like this saved my tail because, had I gone to sleep I would have sealed my fate and failed.
When I went in to take the test I was confident. I actually got to rest my eyes for about an hour, but no sleep.
SO,,,,out of all this long winded info,,what you should extract from it is this,,,,,,take the test when you feel like you will pass it,,,when you know the concepts and terminology because,, not all but some of the language used on this test is ambiguous and not so clear,,,otherwise,,,,like I said before,,,I finished in 15-mins so,,,,,,????
good luck,,,,and good question,,,,no one has asked me that stuff before,,hmmmm
