hmm i was redaing my cisco book

and i read the following signals on copper cables travel 2.3 x 10^8 and in optical fiber they travel 2.0 x 10^8

my question is how is that possible i thought that fiber is faster than copper

somebody please explain

Well, this is what I know. Light travels at 186,281.7 miles per second. The actual speed depends on the medium and temperature. Within an Einsteinian framework, and using conventional means, nothing can travel faster than the speed of light.

Can you type out the paragraph so we have a better understanding what is written? For example, 2.3 x 10^8 will give us a number, and I am not even sure what this number is.
