| Hey guys,
My friend wants to know if he can pass the CCNA test without the Network+ exam. My suggestion is that he does not take the Networks+ class/exam...CCNA covers Network+....please correct me if I am wrong...also my friend wants to know what other exams he should be certified in ......thanks guys

| It all depends on how much networking knowledge he has. I know that it helped me a lot to have N+ and then go for CCNA. | |

| Well is it worth spending another $700 for a Network+ class...isn't the Network+ stuff on the CCNA test anyway...so if he studies from the Sybex CCNA book he should be okay with the stuff OSI model and introductory network stuff....thanks for your opinions on the subject....please reply if you have a comment or feedback... | |

| Hi,
I think you can pass CCNA without taking the Network+. Actually, if you're preparing for the CCNA, you're equally prepared to take the Network+ exam.
I am currently working on my MCSE but enrolled to a Cisco Network Academy Program. I am now on semester 4 and we are reviewing for CCNA and Network+.

| I personally feel that even though Network + is truly a basic networking exam, preparing for it really helps out those who are new the networking world. If your friend has no certifications, or just got his A+, then I would recommend taking Network+. I think it helped me out.
On the other hand, if he has a solid understanding of computers and basics of networking, and money is an issue...just CCNA may be a better choice.
Just depends on circumstances.
What ever he chooses, wish him luck.
