| Hi,
I have got a Cisco 1601 Router for testing. There are 2 Ethernet ports (1 is RJ45, the other is auxiliary), 1 serial port and 1 console port.
I would like to ask whether there is an auxiliary-to-RJ45 convertor such that I can consider my 1601 router as a LAN router rather than a WAN router (since I have no leased line at home)?
Thanks in advance! | |

| hey, i don't think this will work! i have a 1603 that i was hoping to do the same with... but then when i looked more closely at the ports on the back of the router and noticed that both the RJ-45 and the AUI were both listed under the Eth0 i figured it was one or the other. i didn't really know for sure so i decided to look into it...

it looks like you need a 1605 for 2 lan connections.
quote: Unlike the other Cisco 1600 models, the Cisco 1605 can support two LAN connections.

so sad, unless there's some fancy way to do it. well, maybe there's a card for the WIC slot? hmm. |
