I'm a little confused about the comments going on lately especially with Dan (Dmaftei) leaving. I've been away from the forum more than I wanted to because of other commitments. Now that I'm back, I keep hearing about how this forum has degraded quite a bit.
Without trying to be overly sensitive, I've always thought that this forum was different from most (or all) of the forums at different sites, even from other forums on this site.
I do know that Dan has taken some unfair shots in the past and can see why he's upset. If that was me, I would probably do the same. However, this little tirade isn't about me.
This forum has always prided itself on being set apart from the others because of the "comraderie" amongst everyone here. This was especially true of the long time members who we all see constantly. I'm not going to mention any names because I don't want to either leave anyone out, or cause any undo attention to them.
One of the things that has always set us apart is that we seemed to leave the childish behavior outside or to the other sites/forums. If the behavior that is starting to come into here is not stopped, we all loose by loosing an excellent study area because of all the flaming and other remarks going on.
You can reply by saying "too bad, I'll just go somewhere else". So be it. But ask yourself this question. If you weren't serious about upgrading yourself and you thought that this was a great forum to be in, why would you stick around to begin with?
I'm not a moderator, and I'm not vying for the position of it either, but I do believe that it is everyone's responsibility to support this forum in every way possible.
Now that I've had my little tirade, I'll let everyone carry on.
