I would choose 3. I tested this on two routers. Both of them supports startup-config as the first parameter. Only one of them supports nvram:

Hopefully the exam will be less ambigious.

Good luck!

Terje,

Which routers/IOS supported the copy nvram command?

So could you write copy nvram tftp and it would copy the startup to tftp or did you have to write something like copy nvram:startup-config tftp: like it says in the docs?

If copy nvram tftp does the trick, this is one hellish question. I mean, do you go with the new "improved" nvram command or do you go with what works?

Anyway, are these the cisco commands for doing the same thing in different IOSes (oldest to newest)?

configure overwrite-network

copy tftp startup-config

copy tftp: nvram:startup-config

Notice that in my first post I said "nvram:" not "nvram". The latter is synonymous with "flash:nvram" which is quite different. Sorry I did not spot the lack of ":" in your follow-up post. I can see now that my post was a little confusing. copy nvram tftp will not do what was requested, but copy a file named "nvram" (if it exists) from your flash to the tftp server. copy nvram:startup-config tftp: will work if the IOS supports this format. You should be safe if you stick to answer 3 here.

copy nvram tftp
works for the switches though
in switches startup-config isnt a parameter.
