| Juniper limits itself to backbone routers. Good routers, though... | |
| as dmaftei say Juniper only makes backbone routers. So unless you work for an ISP then why get the cert.? From what I hear as well their test are designed that only people that have worked with their products for a while will pass. They even admit their classes will not teach you want is on the test, only work experience will prepare you for their certs. So unless you have a juniper router you most likely won't pass their tests. | |
| I wouldn't worry to much about Juniper. The ground work has been laid and Cisco equipment is right in the thick of things. I know where I work, chasing technology is not good for the budget. If it aint broke don't fix it is the quote of the day.
Sonus, Juniper, Nortel, etc... make darn good stuff. But from a management point of view it would not make sense to dump good working, existing gear for another unless real eye poppin, I need to go take a shower and cool off proof can be put on the table..
| It's good Cisco has real competition. I've never heard of Sonus, but Juniper, Nortel (Bay, for old timers ), 3Com, Lucent, Cabletron, all make very good, good, or at least decent networking gear. Cisco's big advantage is that it covers everything; the other guys are more or less stuck in a niche (afaik only Nortel comes close to Cisco, with a broad variety of products).
I hope (for everybody's sake) that the competition will remain strong. Look at the crap Bill Gates produced, because Microsoft was alone in the market...
Cheers! | |

| Where can i get the CCNA logo. Cisco won't let me get it until 10 days after I passed my test. I need to send it on my resume tonight. Any suggestions on where I ccan get it. Thx in advance. | |
| Here it is, for all of the good it will do.... | |
| I heard Cisco 'adjusted' their bench-tests (Network News) to try and justify their claims to being the best - although it was 'proved' that Juniper were better in certain categories than what Cisco claimed it was the best at...?
Just interesting news...
| Is there anyone who is making any study material for the Juniper exams yet? I havent seen any, but wondered if i missed it somewhere |
