Questions on Techmindworks
|

| I have two questions regarding Techmindworks.
First. It appears that on the progressive drills, the marks are not weighted as a straight percentage of the correct answers as compared to the total questions asked. Does anyone know if that is the case, because the percentage that I'm getting seems very low as compared to the amount of questions that I'm actually getting correct.
Second. I've noticed at the top of some of the questions there is the following statement in blue "The following is a Knowledge Reinforcement Drill:". Is this to indicate a topic that they want you to concentrate on, or is this supposed to mean something else?
Tks

| Hi Jerryl,
The knowledge reinforcement drills are areas where you need improvement. When you answer a question wrong, the system will follow up on that question every once in a while until you answer it correctly x number of times. The neat thing about their drill engine is that it's designed to really hammer the information into your head.
As for the drill progress indicator, from what I understand, they use some kind of artificial intelligence system to predict how you'd do on your exam based on the types of questions you answer right or wrong. As far as I can tell, their drill engine uses this information to fill in any problem areas you might have and pace you through the course material in a way that doesn't overwhelm you but won't bore you with easy stuff either.
It's a pretty cool system they've put together, and they have an excellent member forum, though don't go getting any ideas about leaving us because I will hunt you down and drag you back in here.
I can't wait for them to come out with their CCNP stuff. Their drill engine did wonders for my memory retention when I was studying for my CCNA.

| Thanks Skip;
If what you're saying is right, then I'd better wait a to write my test. I thought that I knew the material, but I guess my retention sucks (it took a while to write this, because I kept forgetting what I was going to say!). With the reinforcement drills, that's pretty well what I thought, but wasn't quite sure.
Me leave the forum here... NEVER!!! Especially at how long its taking me to get ready for the test. Besides, I've noticed that quite a few of the people on thier forum also belong here.
Techmindworks does have a CCNP section. It's on switching.
Tks

| the switching on Techmindworks.com is more of a demo as i got into it without paying.
but whatever they have there i liked.
it was more thorough than some of the "real close to the exam" sites and software.
some people like to think and get a certification and some just need a certificate...thats the issue here.
skip: are u in touch with anyone at techmindowrks.com? email me we can discuss my issue privately.

| I haven't really worked with anyone other than their forum person. He was really helpful when I needed more information on a few topics I was having trouble understanding. I've forwarded you his contact information. He should be able to cure what ails you.
