| 1.) Is it possible to configure more than five VTY lines on a Cisco Router?
a. Yes
B. No
C. Only on low-end routers
D. Only on high end router
If yes, would Trunking then be a part of your config? or am I completely in another world?

| no it is not possible to configure more then 5 VTY lines, and even if you could, there would be no trunking config because trunking is only used by physical ports for VLAN mgmt of what can pass thru the uplinks to get the the rest of the network. | |

Syngress is right on this one. I checked it on one of our routers.
As for trunking, I don't think it has anything to do with vtys.

| i stand corrected....on a 2500 with the IP/FW 12.0.3 ios you can only do 5, but on a 7200 with enterprise code on you can do 1870, on a 6506 with an MSFC code 12.1(2.3) you can config 1511 sorry for the sumwhat wrong info...i'd draw the conclusion tho that its based on the code and hardware of what you can do... | |

Given the choices, D, but it depends at least as much on IOS version as hardware.

| Routers not running the Enterprise edition of IOS have a default of five lines. With the Enterprise edition of IOS you can have a lot more,all depending on the IOS version. To figure out how many lines you can config, add a ? at the end of the command.
router(config)#line vty 0 ?
<1 - xxxx >last line number | |

As I was re-reading the question and more research I realized that the ios used, Standard edition/enterprise edition. I realize that this question "assumes" you are using the enterprise edition.
