What are advantages&disadvatages of LAN segmentation with switches,bridges&Routers?

That's a long story, and it's pretty late now... Your best aproach is to get a CCNA book, or to go to www.cisco.com , try to figure out as much as you can, and if you still need clarification, post your questions here. Hopefully, those questions will be much more specific than this one.
