| My friend just got his CCNA card in the mail. The expire date is in 2 years. Does it mean he has to write a re-new exam?
Thanks Jo | |

| Are you sure you read it correctly? It should have an expiration date of 3 years. Yes, you would have to renew it. But why bother, within 3 years you should be able to have a CCIE or at the least, a CCNP. | |

| Everytime you add a new Cisco cert the 3 years start over | |

| Your're partially right PotatoHead. Only advancing to the next level or recertifying at the Professional level automatically renews all related Associate level certifications. But once you're CCNP who really cares if you're a CCNA? | |

| all certification has the 3 year cluase on em, after that you need to RE-certify.
If you go for higher level cert then it will re-certify lower level cert. | |

| Sup,
So does this mean that we will have to resit the exam.
Or do we just pay sme fees and get renewed..????
Cheers,

| If you pass CCNA and do not go up a level you will have to re-take exam 640-507 at the 3 year point(paying exam fee).
If you move up and pass CCNP you will have to take exam 640-519 (re-certification) at the 3 year point (paying exam fee).
I hope this helps!! |
