I have e-mailed Cisco with exactly the same question! Once they get back to me I will post their answer.

Cisco does not tell us. You may get an answer from someone, but I would argue that the information may or may not be true.

This is what I got from Cisco:

Our exam scores are based on a point scaling system that is widely used in the industry. Your score can fall within a point scale of 300 to 1000 points. You are automatically awarded 300 points for beginning the test and can score up to 1000 points if you answer every question correctly on the exam. Please note that the specific number of points awarded to a given question varies on each of our different exams.

I hope this clears this one up!!!

Here's the nitty gritty....

If you answer all the 65 questions correctly, you will get the full score -- 1000.

00 -> 300 | 20-> 515 | 40-> 730 | 60-> 946
01 -> 310 | 21-> 526 | 41-> 741 | 61-> 956
02 -> 321 | 22-> 536 | 42-> 752 | 62-> 967
03 -> 332 | 23-> 547 | 43-> 763 | 63-> 978
04 -> 343 | 24-> 558 | 44-> 773 | 64-> 989
05 -> 353 | 25-> 569 | 45-> 784 | 65-> 1000
06 -> 364 | 26-> 580 | 46-> 795 |
07 -> 375 | 27-> 590 | 47-> 806 |
08 -> 386 | 28-> 601 | 48-> 816 |
09 -> 396 | 29-> 612 | 49-> 827 |
10 -> 407 | 20-> 623 | 50-> 838 |
11 -> 418 | 31-> 633 | 51-> 849 |
12 -> 429 | 32-> 644 | 52-> 860 |
13 -> 440 | 33-> 655 | 53-> 870 |
14 -> 450 | 34-> 666 | 54-> 881 |
15 -> 461 | 35-> 676 | 55-> 892 |

The CCNA exam is a 75 minutes exam and consists of 65 questions. Passing score is 849, which means you need to get at least 54 question right in order to pass.

= you can only have 11 questions wrong

That is the info that i get from the webmaster of this site, published public.

Rev angel
I like your post but who is right you or the webmaster of this site.

you say that a person can only have 14 questions wrong.

just a FYI post

Reverent Angel has it right I am afraid.

To get 849 out of 1000 to pass is not a % calculation of .849*65

It is a Prometric Exam which means that certain questions can be weighted differently.

For install, a question that asks you to put data, segments, packets, frames, bits in order can carry different weight to a true/false or type you own answer question.

This is what I was told at the testing centre.
