The answers are simple, but i may be wrong though!
Question 1:
Answer: D
Caz ARP stands for address resolution protocol, which provides IP to MAC resolution.
Question 2:
Answer : B
B is correct as the only way for a router to reach a different network is through another router!( Its in the Choices)
And it can never communicate with the other router save that its IP address is known to this router.
I hope that i am not confusing u !

| adress resolution means convert from one type address to another type address like ýp to mac and mac to ýp so ý think first question's answer would be D..
second question answer would be router but which router router than connect you to networks that default router or gateway.

he is asking about getting from one network
segment to another. the only way to do that is
if the destination is not on your local segment
forward the packet to the interface acting as the default gateway.
arp takes a known ip and finds the mac
rarp takes a known mac and finds the ip.

TCP/IP networks use ARP request to determine a destination's MAC address, which means that ARP nows the IP address and by that find the corresponding MAC address.
Q2.
When connectivity to a host on a different network segment you have to use a router because this is the only one device that use IP address. The router has its one routing table and the default gateway must be implemented so the segment can find the way out. |
