What are the 2 functions of the Data Link Mac layer?

1- Handles access to shared media
2- Manages protocol access to the physical network medium
3- Provides SAPs for higher level protocols
4- Allows multiple devices to uniquely identify one another on the data link layer

handles access to shared media what mean?

ý answered 2-4 but what mean 1? are these correct answers

The Physical layer handles access to shared media. The Datalink layer neither knows nor cares about shared media access. Shared media access, is of course, facilitated by CSMA/CD, which operates at the physical layer.

I would agree the answers are 2 & 4, actaully CSMA/C works at the DataLink Layer ..
