| I just finished my Network plus and I have decided to go for my CCNA.
In order to save money,Iam thinking of reading this on my own without going for any additional lessons because of financial constraints.
I want to know whether anybody has done that successfully before, and if yes, what is the secret.
See you then. | |

Yes; strive to really understand what you read. | |

| Of course it will work out!
Self confidence, hard work, and motivation will help you overcome any cert.
This forum will definitly help =)
After just taking the test, I realized that there are quite a few command questions on the test:
i.e.;
What does the command "en" do... and so forth, be sure to pay attention to that as you go through which ever study guide that you buy.
Cheers and best of luck | |

| Dmaftei is correct,,,we both are testimonials to your inquiry/question.
and the key is what he said,,read, and re-read, and when your sick and throwing up because of your reading,,,read some more, and try to understand what it is your reading about,,,,
good luck,,and oh yeah, post your questions in this forum,,,and they will be disected appropriately,,,,,,

| Absolutely you can do this one on your own! I'd recommend getting a Cisco Press book (I loved the CCNA by Wendell Odom) and really read to understand everything NOT just pass the test. I felt that the test questions that came on the cd included with the book were very good and my feeling is that if you can pass those questions with 85% or better you'll have no problem with the test. A router sim to play with is good, too. I used the Sybex Router Sim ... Good luck! | |
|
| It worked for my MCSE track. I used MS-Press Books. Now, I'll try this for CCNA. But, I'm sure of that I'll need some router simulations. As I know, It'll be much harder. Good Luck to all of us...

| I recommend this to people quite often as it's really not that hard, especially as you already have N+.
I'm doing the CCNP "on my own" and have problems getting access to kit to work on as we have no spares at work.
For your CCNA though you could use www.r1r2.com for router access it's basic - but more importantly its free.
All the best. | |

This is the wrong certificate to try for w/o
at least some kind of schooling, beit computer based or classroom, shoulda saved
your money that you spent on the net+ & put
it toward ccna. |
