| I'm after seeing 2 different answers to much the same question - need some clarification please.
I was sure that the max hop count for RIP was 16 hops and that constisuted network unreachable.
In a practice exam somewhere - it reported a hop count of 15.
Just need a little reassurance.
Many thanks.

| maximum hop count in rip is 15, if you set it to 16 it is unreachable. 15 is allowed. | |
|
| The max-hop-count for RIP is 15. Infinity is defined as 16 hops. When the hop count reaches 16, the system has counted to "Infinity" and reports the destination host as unreachable.
