| what do do see when an interface is administratively shut down?
two of the options are
.. administratively shut down and
... protocol down, interface down.
It is some thing that showed up on my test last week. any idea??

| It will show as administratively down.
------------------
MCP+I, MCSE, CCNA2.0 | |
|
| if the port is administratively down, and you do a show int E0/0(for example)
it will look like
Ethernet 0/0 is administratively down, line protocol is down.
otherwise it will just say
Ethernet 0/0 is up, line protocol is up,
and or
Ethernet 0/0 is down, line protocol is down
Ethernet 0/0 is up, line protocol is down | |

| Thanks guys. I should have been here b4 I took my exams. Atleast I would have known that the exam will be for 75min. I went in thinking it to be for 90min. I set my watch to alert me at 30 min interval. It was at the first alert that I realizeed that I have 45 mins to answer 43 questions. Boy! did panic set in. I have no option but to rush through it and I ended up with 816 score. I ts my fault , I should have read all the instructions. I will know better next time. It will cost me $100 to learn that.
I will retest again in a couple of days so if you have any hints, it will be very much appreciated

| I found that going through the transcender ccna and the ccna examgear testing engines in repetition helped me. A lot of the questions were very similiar, but I also have a lab here at work along with everyday hands on, so I had a bit of an advantage. I would make sure you are very comfortable with the OSI inside and out, but if you have tested once, I am sure you have an idea what to study. |
