| I have set up the following network
router-a s0 172.16.1.1 sm 255.255.255.128
router b s0 172.16.1.2 and e0 172.16.2.1
gateway is 172.16.2.1 I have ws connected to the hub connecting router -b ws 1 is 172.16.2.2 running win 98 and it pings to everywhere except 172.16.2.3 the 172.16.2.3 is running win 95 and it will not ping any where but it self I have ws 3 running nt and it pings everywher except ws-2172.16.2.3
all cables check out the tcp and the gateway is correct and the system device shows the nic is working.
I am thinking it is win 95 because I have the same problem on another network and only the win 95 still will not ping.
What could cause this. | |
|
| as i said in your previous post, it sounds like either wrong/bad driver or faulty nic. the only time i can remember seeing win 95 be the cause of a problem like this was a screwed up install of winsock 2.0

| Although Win95 is plug n play,
with all the diff. types of NIC
cards out there, you might still
have to do some manual configurations.
One example is for combo cards, you
might need to choose the right media,
as in RJ-45 or coaxial.
You have to read the NIC card manual
to confirm your setup and then go to
the OEM website and download the
latest driver.
Also, you can use "winipcfg /all" to
display more info and compare them
with those from the good WS. |
