where is a list of ALL IOS commands
| would like to look up that no ip directed-broadcast command | |
| Here's one that's a few pages away from Slacker's page. It's the master index for 12.1, but in a complete form and in parts: http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td...mindx/index.htm
I like it because you can look up the command indepent without wading through the particular technology. Beware: the complete index is about 2 megs. That's just the index; no explanations there.
I usually use the master index from 12.0 because it's a lot easier to read and is about 1/3 the size. It's at http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td...gcr/rbkixol.htm

| There is also a book you can buy called:
Cisco IOS Software Command Summary. It is about 800 pages of Cisco IOS commands and brief explanations of the function of the command. | |
| The IOS books you get from Cisco are a real stack. The Version 12.0 books must be 3 foot high when piled on top of each other.

| That's damn depressing Yankee! I knew I wouldn't be no expert after CCNA but one look at the full list is making me reel. How much of that does a real life network engineer really know I wonder? | |
| 1,000,000th of it. Even the engineers that do the design and test work have the books open all the time, so don't get depressed. Look at it as an opportunity to learn more then most who never open a book

| I started downloading the IOS documentation, but then I realized it was 1 gigabyte in size!! Yeah, right...maybe for those of us that have leased line or frame relay...and a few gigabyte to spare! I wonder if that's a compressed zip file!!!
