Network Academy Semester 1 after thoughts!!

|
| I am doing my Semester 1 exam tomorrow, and it has been a long hard slog......
I don't know masses about networks but I felt there was way too much theory to learn, I was reading through stuff on line (you have to go through 15 chapters and do exams at the end of each) and it just wasn't sinking in, it was too much in a short space of time.
The other guys on the course felt the same, I have felt that I haven't learnt much in seven days, at eight hours a day.
I have redone exams and now my learning has come through learning the answers to the questions, which will probably make me pass the final exams, because I have learnt the answers. Is this a bad thing? I know people will say well you haven't learnt the subject, but if people have done Semester 1, how the hell can you learn all that in eight days?
If people have opinions on Semester 1 or any other thoughts, please let me know....

| You ask if memorizing the answers to the questions is a bad thing?
Ummmm...what if you get a different question at an interview?

| Sem 1 in 8 days? ohhhh nooooooo.....
I thought that it was a lot to learn in 11 weeks! That's why they call it semester 1, not week 1! good luck with your exam!

| Hi,
I can't even imagine doing semester 1 in 8 days. I did it in about 9 weeks and that was pushing it. I basically studied the chapter test for the final and managed to make a 99 on it. I really don't think I had that great of an understanding of the material. I have been studying the last month for the CCNA and that preparation along with the foundation that I received in the Cisco academy has helped me have a greater understanding of the material. The Cisco academy gave me the foundation I needed. I have just been building on what I l learned in the academy and giving myself a stonger foundation. The academy will give you the foundation you need. You will need to just build on that foundation on your own. I am using the Sybex book for my main source. I am also using the Boson and Transcender as a review also. Good luck and don't get to discourage if you feel lost. I was ready to drop out of the academy after the first two semesters but I hung in there and will hopefully have my CCNA soon.
