| i just installed the sybex virtual lab on my pc and as it is loading up it craps out, like it doesnt wanna launch, can anyone gimme some pointers on how to make this sim work, i need to start practing some commands and stuff like that, thanx... | |

| Are you getting any error messages? Did you install the e-trainer in your C drive or some other drive? It did same to me when I installed it in different drive other than C: drive. But when I installed it on C drive it works just fine!

| hey hash or anyone out there i installed e-trainer on my c drive, it initializes, i get no error message and then the cd-rom player quits, it trys to launch it again and the same thing happens, can anyone provide any helpful advice, thanx.. | |

| Sounds like hardware issues. I would try to install the same e-trainer CD on another computer or use an another CD and test out your CD-ROM drive. Between your CD ROM and the Sybex e-trainer CD, there might be hardware problems. Let me know the result. I might be able to help you out.

| I just wanted to throw in my two cents here about the Sybex E-trainer. Did anyone else buy this package and become greatly disappointed with it? I sure was simply for the fact that it is really limited as to what you can do with it. You can't even create a VLAN for God's sake. Jsut seems like a waste of money.... | |

| hey ciscolabs i tried to do that, its not my cd-rom becuase i have loaded other progrmas via my cd rom drive and they havent quitted unlike this one which keeps stalling when i try to initilize it, pls help if you can. | |

| Check your hardware, CD rom and try install
it on a c drive
You will have access to all these routers:
Gateway ( Cisco 2511 ) - Reverse Telnet Gateway Router with User Mode access
RouterA ( Cisco 2513 ) - Ethernet and Token Ring with Privilege Mode access
RouterB ( Cisco 2501 ) - Ethernet with Privilege Mode access
RouterC ( Cisco 2513 ) - Ethernet and Token Ring with Privilege Mode access
1 Cisco Catalyst 2912 Privilege Mode access

| This may be too obvious, but I had problems with my virtual etrainer when I tried to launch the icon and turns out that you need to keep the etrainer CDROM disc in the drive to make it work. It Doesn't give you a descriptive message that the CD is required, only some cryptic message. I hope that the solution is that simple for you as well! |
