|
| Geez, that really sux. But money talks, everyone wants an easy way out. But in the end who are they going to fool when they gonna face a real life situation with networks.
| |
|
| That really does s*ck. I can't believe people can stoop so low.
I guess we should feel lucky to have such a great group here. After all, if we weren't all actively pursuing our studies, we wouldn't be here.

| Hi all,
Just thought I'd give my two cents...
I am an MCSE and studied really hard, this was after about 18 months using the software and I paased the exams without too much difficulty, thinking of all the work I put in just to get people thinking immediately that I am a paper cert (which has happened!). I'm glad that the MS is trying to change the certs so they test the understanding and not memorisation.
Since network support and design is the area I want to specialise in, the Cisco certs are useful because it forces people to understand.
Soz to waffle but I feel strongly on this because we all suffer when people are allowed to cut corners.
|
| Ultimately, those people will suffer when they get out into the real world and can't do their jobs.
Don't bad mouth the cert process, just the cheaters. If the testing center is in on the cheating, what can you do? (Do we have proof this is really happening?) Do your best to prove you earned the cert and to hell with the fakes.

| I could BARELY understand a word this person was trying to say. I think I caught a glimpse of what they were trying to say.....
Just like everyone's opinion relating to this message, there will always be people out there looking to "cut corners", and unfortunately it makes the whole industry look bad. I'm almost embarrassed now to say that I'm an MCSE, because usually the response is a "smirk or chuckle".
I don't think that you will be able to BS your way through the Cisco certs (Especially CCIE). It's refreshing to be part of a chat group that is actually interested in learning the material they are looking to certify in.
Good Luck All!

| Well it is only $6 in China in India. The Test Administrator will even give the exam for you, you needn't be there just wait for the certificate to arrive. Pakistan is the worst, where You pay in certification title like Rs. 1500 (around $100) for MCSE or MCDBA.
Bill Gates better make sure only Network Engineers are allowed to give MCSE Exams.
|
| Who cares? At the end of the day -- or in the morning -- when I go to shave, I can actually look at the guy in the mirror and shave that not so pretty face with out having the shakes -- which is safer that way!
So some Chinese are getting their MCSE for $6? As we say in France, "if their teeth were on fire, I would not pi$$ in their mouth." In other words, there are two kinds of people: the ones that get the job done, and the others. I could not care less what happens to the second half...
