time running out 4 640-407!

| i want to try and take the ccna 407 and am having trouble gettn completely registered b4 the 31st...in filling out the finally registration...they dont have a choice 4 paying hard cash..its all vouchers? ,amex? and credit cards...i have neither and time is running out all have my login id,testing # and a third long id # . the problem is i cant seem to get a hold any body to steer me in right direction and things must b straight 48hr b4 time of testing ...the 31st is only acouple os days away...help anybody | |

| I spoke with Prometric late this afternoon and was told by 2 customer service reps that they were told by their managers NOT to register anyone else for the 407 exam effective noon today.
Based on those conversations and the fact that I was registered to sit for 407 on Thursday but the web registeration "didn't appear in their database", I would think that its too late to register for the exam.
They realized their screwup with me and gave me a free seat on Monday at 4:15....
I may not be correct on this, but I've fought with them since 8:30 Thursday morning about my 407 that was scheduled for Thursday - I even had the confirmation page printed from their web site....
If I were you, I would move for the 507. Check out www.techmindworks.com as they have the best online preparation drill and exams I have seen.

| thanks rico...i a little ticked your are supposed to be able to register 48 ahead to take the test..i also started wednesday it took then OVER24hrs to reply...and this morning i got my test number...checked for conformation being process at there 2test ..i went thru everything excpt when it got to the choices of payment...um i did not see any of july for choice of test day on august the 2nd forward...i wonder is there anything that i can do???? whats the ph # for prometrics? | |

| rico let me clarify things alittle since my last note was alittle muddled ..the sent me a ok that i could sign up for the test...i have user id , test # and very long 3rd #.i login in and confirmed i that had been" process".i went check test #640-407,test time and test day.what i didnt or couldnt choice was payment..vouchers??,amex?? and credit cards ..there was no choice of payment at testing site?..the first day available that i chose was august2????that what they had??? i wonder if i am out of it? | |

| They blocked out every date for every testing center for the 407 exam because they told me that they could not register anyone for the exam after noon on Friday because all sites were full. I doubt this is true, but it may be. Regardless, I decided that I couldn't control Prometric - not that I hadn't tried, but I was wasting time talking to brick walls that were not going to budge, so I just returned to studying for the exam on Monday.
The email you recieved means you can now register online with them, but you're out of time to register for the 407. BUT, you may want to call them periodically on Monday in the event they have cancellations - but again, they told me they could no longer register anyone for the exam.
If you know the 407 material, you may want to consider obtaining a good understanding of the additional material required to pass the 507 and take it. I would think that all on the 407 is required knowledge for the 507, so you're already way ahead in the game in regard to taking the 507. Just study the additional material.
I know you don't want to hear this, but this is all I know to tell you based solely on my dealings with them.
I WILL NEVER REGISTER ONLINE FOR A PROMETRIC EXAM AGAIN. This was my first time to use the online registeration and it was a bad experience. The bottom line, based on what they told me, is that (get this) they are not directly accountable for any problems arising from online registeration. One guy even told me not to use it and call instead.

| rico-@#$$%^& on line registration!!! yes i agree with u 100%. i was one who got stonewall and fatally knockout of 407..klucy online registration and not being able to talk to enlightening(live) sources for problems..by the way the phone # to contact them is now reachable!!! to tell me" the registration(407) is now closed"...wonderful, i am more knowlegeable Now!!!...well enough of cathartic movements...on to 507@#$*$...good luck in ur endavor ...i should have paid more attention to ur posting...saylovee..keep me/us posted about ur experiences....now lets see wheres those free study materials for 507...ionsurfer | |

| I had so many problems with Prometric Online registration, I registered my address/name with the several weeks ago and received an e-mail telling to call them to confirm my name, etc.
I tried doing that and they had no clue what I was talking about or what the "Pre-Registration" # that I got from the website was for.
Fortunately I was able to book a test SAME DAY yesterday for 407. Didn't get my first choice of testing centres, but my second choice. | |

| I know based on my experience of late that I will NEVER use Prometric's online registeration again - even though they "advertise" is while you wait on hold to speak to a customer service representative.
I guess some things are best kept simple and this is one of them for the time being...
