Author Ciscokid please advise on CCDA exam

2000-04-30, 5:31 am

I just passed CCNA yesterday and not intend to do CCNP now but interested in the CCDA.
Are Sybex CCDA book and Boson tests enough
for the exam.?

What about exam format (commands, scenario,
drag and drop, fill in blanks etc.),passing score and exam time?
I have NO practical router experience except
with the RouterSim.

Thanks in advance.

I tend to use the Cisco Press books, I find that they get a little more detailed with certain things that Sybex do not. The boson tests are great!!!!! I've been using them all along, definate A+++++.
The format of CCDA is 80% Case Studies..
They will give you a scenario of a network that needs to be upgraded and ask a dozon questions on each one.(Each question being 1 of 78) Make sure you know the right products for the job and that where to place them. You will get tons of Catalyst quesions, know the Hierachial Model i.e - Core, dstribution, and Access layers. You will get a few oddball questions but it's mostly what I've described. I'm actually taking CID this week which is CCDA on steroids...hehe. That will give me my CCDP as well... Hey good luck to you -
