To all studying for the ccna

| Compared to the Net+ exam how much harder is the ccna? Also, is it wise to write the Net+ exam before writtig the ccna exam? I was currently studying for the Net+ exam and I am a little to eager to study for the ccna and I just want to get started on that right away. Especially knowing that Net+ really isn't recognized by that many employers, and at $185 for the exam I would just rather spend it on a couple of CCNA books.
Thanks for the input on this entire forum.

| If I were you I would go for the CCNA.
Cheers!

| Thanks for the reply,
The only problem is that I don't have access to a cisco network so I would have no hands on experience before taking the exam. Granted I am not saying everyone in this forum does have access to that, but I guess what I am saying is that besides reading most of the All in one Net+ cert book I don't have any other network experience.
Thanks again | |

| If you think you're really basic, go for Todd Lammle; if you're more than that, go for W. Odom (these are CCNA preparation books).
As for hands-on, check out www.r1r2.com. I think that's enough to get you through the exam.
Good luck!

| Look at the Net+ as practice. Half the information you become familiar with to take N+ will be info you'll need to get even more familiar with for CCNA. Sure $185 is a lot (the price is going up very, very soon), but if you look at how busy the N+ forums on most cert sites stay, it seems that the N+ is getting more recognition as an entry-level exam. I recommend N+ first. Also, if you are planning on MCSE, the studying and evaluation that the N+ will give you will apply to MCSE info as well. Go for it. | |

| study for the NET+ and CCNA and keep an eye on the wanted adds, maybe by the time your ready to pass the net+ it might be more recognised and it might be worth obtaining otherwise save your dosh.Im studying CCNA and NET+ and wont bother getting the NET+ unless i see more NET+ required in the job section. I can think of better things to spend $185.OO.( Maybe some router simulator software ).
Cheers
