Author Confused on Frame Relay

2000-12-24, 2:08 am

I've been reading about frame relay from Cisco's NetAcad book and am not grasping it. I've noticed that Lammle doesn't appear to go into it as deep as the Cisco book does (although I haven't read that part of his book yet).

Does anyone know if Cisco considers this to be one of the "main" topics or as a secondary topic that they would be concentrating on?

If anyone knows of a good tutorial on-line, I would appreciate the link.

Tks

Given that all those DSL services the telcos, ISPs, etc. are offering are frame relay, I would think that it's an important thing to know. At least for me. Can't speak for Cisco. I look at all the frame relay posts both on this forum and the CCNP forum.

Hi JerryL,

Here's a couple links:

http://www.alliancedatacom.com/pack...es-tutorial.htm

http://www.frforum.com/basicsguide.html

The second link is for a downloadable frame-relay basics tutorial in HTML or PDF. The first link looks as though it was taken from Cisco's site.

I know the netacad course doesn't always explain topics in an organized way, which makes it more confusing than it should be.

What is it you are confused about?

Hope this helps!

Why don't you go to the source:

Cheers!

Thanks for the replys guys. I found that the way that the NetAcad book explained things, I didn't grasp it. I plan on going through the links that you gave me.

Between these links and what materials that I have here, I should hopefully be able to get a good understanding.

Tks again;

JerryL
