Author Easy Way To Remember Routing Metrics?

2000-12-01, 6:12 pm

Hi everyone. I was wondering if there is an easy way to remember which routing protocol uses what metric(s).

I can never seem to remember! Thanks in advance!

For me it comes down to practice Sometimes I find little neumonics, but the more complex stuff takes practice for me. I know I've said it before and its like I have stock in their company (I don't own any), but techmindworks has helped me memorize this kind of stuff

Cheers.

Here's a good mnemonic for IGRP:

"Better Ditch Roger Little Mary"

Better = Bandwidth
Ditch = Delay
Roger = Reliability (Roger is so unreliable)
Little = Load
Mary = MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit)

Hope this helps,
