This part is right. But you didn't break down the subnets and broadcasts.

126 Last user(host address)
127 Broadcast address
This is Class C

This is the proper way of breaking down a Class C structure. | |

| Mix, I'm confused. I don't see where rore is wrong. Broadcast=191 first subnet=128 first host=129 last host=190. Same thing you came up with I thought.

| This is a class B network with a class B subnet. Probably, for the purposes of the the test, you would handle this as if it were a class C network. It's also an example of where you can have a 0 or value equal to the last octet in the subnet mask but it depends on what is in the third and fourth octet. As long as all the subnet bits on the third octet are not all off, then subnet 0 in the fourth octet is valid. Also, as long as all the subnet bits in the third octet are not all on, 192 is valid in the fourth octet as a subnet. For this example, you would have subnets:
0.64 0.128 0.192 1.0 1.64 1.128 1.192 etc.
For a class C subnet, you wouldn't be able to use 0 or 192. |
