| I spent some time going through Odom's Study guide and made a list of the RFC's mentioned,
RFC 768 - UDP
RFC 792 - ICMP
RFC 793 - TCP
RFC 1490 - Frame-relay (obsolete see RFC2427)
RFC 1700 - Assigned #s
RFC 1723 - RIP v2
RFC 1817 - CIDR
RFC 1918 - Private Internets
RFC 2427 - Frame-relay
Are there any others that should be known for the test? I take it that since these were the only ones mentioned in the study guide they are the only ones needed for the exam. I would think RFCs for IP, and RIP v2 might be good to know. I'd only like to memorize ones needed for the exam. I can look up the rest! Any comments (perferabley from thos that took the exam)?

| I took the test last week and don't remember any questions specifically about RFCs. | |
|
| If these numbers go to my brain naturally, thats ok. I wouldnt try to memorize them like crazy. Of course, its really up to you.
Focus more on concepts.

| Thanks guys,
The Boson asked a few questions, and I think both Study guides, so I figured they were worth about 1/2 hour or so of memorization (hate doing it but better safe than sorry).

| Now another thing to memorize???
| |
|
| There were no rfc questions on my test. I would concentrate on other things.
Good luck | |
|
| FWIW, I did a question regarding rfc 1700. Can't remember if I answered correctly or not. | |

| Hey thanks, though it seems that many people didn't get these on their exams, every study guide and practice test I've taken refers to some RFC's - mostly just RIPv1 (#1053 ?).
I'd hate to miss a question as simple as: "What's the rfc that defines TCP" I would kick myself for weeks!
It shouldn't take too long to be able to recognize these RFC's, 5 minutes a day for 5 days should be adequate study time on the RFC's.
