I keep coming across these questions that I am unable to locate a definitive answer. I always want to be able to verify everything. Even looked at the RFC, but did not see it although I am sure it was there. Could someone help me out here? Maybe recommend a book or site that has the answers?
Thanks so much.

How does someone log in to a secure Web site with a username and
password in the URL line? Which is the correct URL below?

A) HTTP:username@password//secure.mycorp.com
B) HTTPS:username@password/secure.mycorp.com
C) HTTPS:secure.mycorp.com/username@password
D) HTTP://secure.bfq.com/username@password

I found this answer at one site: (thecertificationhub.com)
D - The rfc conventions require this format for functionality.

But Cert21(#5 inet609) shows:

What is the proper syntax for establishing a telnet connection using a username and password in the command line?

A)Telnet://usernameassword@hostort#/
B)Telnet://username@password/hostort#
C)Telnet://port#, username, password
D)Telnet:// username,password@hostort#

A similar question from thecertificationhub.com indicates that A would be correct.

(All I have ever used was go the the "command" or run and entered Telnet and the ip ie. Telnet 201.092.102.083 and then entered the password, IE does not support telnet)

My guess here (and I don't mean to offend) is that you're looking at some braindump material. These are two questions that are so poorly misworded it's truly pathetic!

The syntax for entering the logon information at the same time as the domain name is as follows:

https://username@password/domain name
(therefore, the answer is not given in the choices provided as written )

I believe the "dumper" intended to ask you about logging on via FTP NOT Telnet. To my knowledge there really is no syntax requiring username or password for Telnet. Therefore, I offer the following information to help you learn more about logging on via FTP at the URL.

Access to a secure FTP site may be via a graphical interface in which you enter a username and password in a manner that's similar to a network logon screen. Without the interface, you have the option of logging on at the time that the FTP site URL is entered. The syntax for logging on in this way is:

usernameassword@ftp.xxx.xxx

Hope this helps.

No offense taken. Any and all responses and help is welcomed. I have seen them on some dumps but these are from a site that sells practice tests. The are just a few samples. If you look at the site and the questions you will see they may not be the best.
