Hey all,

I know that anything on a web page
is copywritten (text, graphics....)

What about file downloads,

For example, if I create a file (text file)
that is uploaded to the web server, and I supply a link on my page for people to download this file. Since that file is not exactly on the web page (like the text and graphics) is it also copywritten under the
copyright laws when it comes to web page content?

Or.....what if the file is just on the web server, no web page or anything
but if you know the URL path
you could download it.

Is that file still copywritten
under the copyright laws concerning web page content?

i would imagine that so long as you have not infringed any copyright laws yourself that your product(s) are copyrighted.

How can file downloads be copyrighted? It seems a discussable topic.
I guess it depends upon also the corporation that develops it and supplies it
