Here's another question I've seen split:

Streaming media formats allow for slowdowns in the data stream by

A. Storing media information in a database
B. Dividing the available bandwidth into normal and backup segments.
C. Compressing the data into ZIP format
D. Building up a buffer of data before playback begins

I know the answer is D, but I've seen several practice exams say that A is the right answer here. I am right ain't I????

Yes you are right.

Simply download real player and try to play a streaming video file from someplace... You will notice it saying "Building Buffer" or something like that.

Yes - the answer is D. I always remembered this one by thinking I have to record something first before I can play it back!! (Well it worked for me!)

Definitely D. I can't see why A is given in other practice tesets. Can you tell us where you've seen this? Was there an explanation?

Pavlov thanks for the site in 'Getting closer...' though I'll heed your warning that some items may be wrong.

My study for i-Net+ is only about 10 pages into the Exam Cram book... So I don't know certain things like the old copyright laws that the test covers, and practice tests would still leave me confused. I can, however, confidently tackle this question. The correct answer has to be D. Everyone here agrees, too, so that helps

You've taken more tests than I have, so I'm sure you've noticed during study that you can't rely on just one source. And if one thing contradicts several other sources, the lone one is probably incorrect.

I personally wouldn't let this faze me. But even if you get a similar question and CompTIA has a weird answer, it doesn't matter since you're going to get all the other questions right Go get `em man!
