Examnotes/Cram copyright question

| Hopefully. someone can clarify this for me. Examnotes.net study notes say that it is not necessary to register your work with any US copyrights office.
However, in the Exam Cram book on page 268 it says that you register your work by sending 3 copies to the US Library of Congress within 3 months of the publish date.
For the i-net+ exam do you register your work through the Library of Congress as Exam Cram says, or stick with the examnotes answer and say no registering is necessary? | |

| It is recommended, but not necessary. | |

| All original work is "protected" by copyright laws automatically. It's just not "registered" which is handy when you have to go to court to protect those rights.
The difference between saying it's your work and proving it. |
