| Ok, that's right, but to fix these in your mind, try using some of these products. Go to freak's site (www.mcsefreak.com) to see some Flash animations. You have probably used real Player to listen to music or webcasted radio stations.
As for my question, usually you will have PHP, ASP, or CGI scripts executed on the server. CGI scripts are usually written in Perl, but are sometimes in Python or a number of other languages. The good thing about this is that the server has far more processing power than the client probably will. The downside is that the data has to be sent to the server for processing, then back to you, making this slower and also it puts a drain on the server if lots of people are accessing it at the same time. Java applets and JavaScript are executed locally on the client machine. |
