| I am a beginner and would like loads of advice on which certification track to pursue I really started liking CIW and though I havent decided what i intend to do I kinda like programming, Java etc. I have started reading about i-net+ and I am really considering doing the i-net+ exam first especially since you get 2 certs in one
Is it harder than CIW foundations exam?
Is it more recognised and marketable?
are there cert tracks like CIW i.e are that following exams?
What is the major differences btw the exams?
how does it compare with availability of Courseware to CIW?
I look forward to your responses | |

| I took CIW Foundation exam (ID0-410) in Nov, 2000 and i-NET+ this week. When I took CIW Foundation exam, it was divided into three parts: Internet Business Fundamentals (24 questions), HTML Fundamentals (12 Q's), and Networking Fundamentals (24 Q's). You have to answer 75% of all questions on the test and achieve minimum score of 70% on each section of the exam. I read on the forum that the exam is not divided into three sections anymore, but I am not sure about it. You better confirm that. I took i-NET+ exam on Wednesday (June 20). I thought i-NET+ exam was a little harder than CIW one because the majority of the questions were on development, networking and security, but very few questions on HTML. You also need to know something about business concepts for i-NET+ exam. I don't know which certification is better recognized and more marketable. I decided to get both. I used CIW Foundation materials as well as this forum and practice tests for i-NET+ exam preparation. Good luck! | |

| I would suggest you go for the I-Net+ exam. I've heard it's harder than the CIW foundations exam and it does cost more($190) but you can now recieve both I-net+ and CIW foundations certification when you pass the exam so you can get a little more bang for your buck with it.
Here is the link about getting CIW Foundations credit for passing the I-net+ exam.
