| I passed the Net+ exam about two weeks ago and I am also using the Exam Cram book. I am not a slow reader but I tend to read some things over and over until i understand the concept. Once I read the book a few times then I start taking practice tests. My goal is not just to memorize but to understand (as much as possible) the concepts.
Keep plugging away and try to be patient and when you decide to take the test I know you will do fine.

| I sat the N+ in Sept. and took the S+ beta in Nov. I'll take I+ in 2-3 weeks. I've got Exam Cram, Exam Prep, Groth, every study guide on the net, CIW study guides, and a few others we won't mention. I'm also studying for the Wildpackets AATech. It is the first level of NAX. It is all about Protocol Analysis. It's facsinating because it just builds on N+ and I+. It sort of validates all that time you spent learning the OSI. just a little deeper down the the rabbit hole... | |

| I took Network+ about two weeks and I am now studying for I-Net+. I am using the Exam Cram book and I als plan to read the Sybex book by David Groth (not sure of spelling)also. I am now on Chapter 5 because I only get to read while commuting to work. After I read both books I might go through exam cram and then some practice tests. Most of the materials are similar to Network+ so I don't think I-Net+ would be so difficult. At least I hope not. | |

| Robert Shimonski did an excellent job of building a study guide from the exam objectives during the development of the exam. I believe he was an SME for S+.
It's over @ cramsession > study guides > comptia > server+. pdf,html, or pda format.
I also did quite a bit of additional research from that study guide. Check out robert's site also. We didn't know what all would be on the test so I studied it ALL. Get out of desktop mode and think SERVER.
If you follow the exam from JTA thru survey and beta, you kind of get a feel for what they want. I am following the linux+ exam also. It should beta soon.
The exam was more scenerio based, like they say. Know the Grandfather, father, son tape rotation. When you would use which level of RAID. types of scsi term. SE,differential,LVT. ARP,tracert, ping, netstat and know a few switches. experience is a plus on this one. |
