| Just an update. I took and passed the i-Net+ today with a 96%. I took this exam as I am a trainer and will be holding a class next month for 20 people that are going for their i-Net+. I wanted to check out the questions to make sure I would cover everything necessary. I will say this. Microsoft might be considered "tricky" in the way they word their question, but at least there are clear answers. I must have encountered 10 or more questions that had multiple correct answers. It comes down to the "which is more correct" model of thinking, but I mean this was too much. This is a certification geared towards "entry-level" folks. The wording of these questions were not what I would consider "entry-level". Don't get me wrong, I found it quite easy and finished the test in 17 minutes... BUT... a lot of the questions were not "crisp". I must agree BTW with many people here, if you have the Network+ background or anything close to it and read the i-Net+ cram or review or whatever they call it on this site you will pass without any problem.
It really ticked me off to see a question about "vector-based" format with 2 correct "vector" based specifications without indication if the were looking for streaming or not. Oh well.
Best of luck to all looking to become i-Net+ certified!

| Did you have the infamous "CSS" question? I would hope that Cascading Style Sheets is the correct answer!!
One other thing, I have encountered several questions with conflicting answers in the many online practice exams I have taken.
Hope my purchase of the Self Test Software gets me through this!!

Actually the i-Net+ and CCNA really should not be compared. I would say I think the CCNA is at least 4 times more difficult than the i-Net+. When I took the i-Net+ I saw one simple question about choosing the correct subnet for a standard classfull address (Class A, B, C, D, E). On the other hand the CCNA requires you to be able to do true Classless address subnetting and fully understand how to do it at the bit level. The exam is also filled with a ton of Cisco command questions. I was surprised by the number of Cisco commands on the exam back when I did the CCNA.
If you pass the Net+ when you get home immediately schedule your i-Net+ for one week later. There is no question that if you pass the Net+ and review just the material on this site you will pass the i-Net+ without difficulty.
Good luck on your Net+ test next week. BTW, For what it is worth I think you could consider the Net+ more difficult than the i-Net+... So keep at it and don't ever stop going for the next cert!

Actually I do not remember having the CSS question. I was however prepared for both of the variations that they can ask on the "CSS" acronym.
I would expect to see conflicting answers in practice exams, but certainly not the real thing.
I really believe I would have perhaps got a perfect score had the test not required me to "guess" between two correct answers. I am ABSOLUTELY POSITIVE that they had two correct answers and I wrote the questions down after I left so I would remember to verify my thoughts later. I was 100% correct, multiple correct answers. That is not called testing ones skills but more of a test of luck.
I feel like contacting CompTIA and see if I can get involved in cleaning up that test. <Shrug> Who knows.
Best of success with your goals.

| Congratulations!!! Did they ask about international encryption... I still wonder what the answer should be 128 or 40???
Good Luck on the next one.
