| Does anyone here know a formula to calculate download time? I have looked everywhere on the net.. the only thing I can find is programs that will give the estimated download time...
1) 2kb file downloading on a 56k modem?
question like that, that might be on the test..

| The equation is Size of Page divided by available bandwidth.
First determine theoretical speed of device by dividing by 8 bits per byte eg:
56Kbps divided by 8 bits = 7 Kb/s (7k per second)
Then size of page say 100 kilobytes divided by 7k per seconds = 14.28 so approximately 15 seconds to download. | |
