| Hello everyone. I recently passed Net+ and have embarked on the I-Net+ course. I am a little ways out from taking the test, but I have some questions that hopefully some of you can answer.
For those who have taken the test, how was it? (easy, hard, tricky, etc.)
Where are some good sites to do take some practice tests?
I have heard that once you pass the I-Net+ that you can fax your results and get a CIW cert. Is this true?
Not related to the course or test, but I have been considering joining CompTIA. Do you find any value in this membership?
Any help would be appreciated. TIA! | |

The exam is not tricky or exceptionally hard, as long as you know the content. In fact it was mostly straightforward. Since you already did the Network+ and there is a fair bit about networking you are about 30% ready.
As far as CIW goes, when you pass the i-Net+ you can submit your scores as well as the application to get the CIW Associate cert (make sure to sign the on-line agreement), should take about 8 weeks (mine took almost 12) to come in the mail.
The compTIA IT Pro membership is a really good deal, you get access to the IT Pro site, newsletters, membership certificate and discount coupons for exams - I got 25% discount coupons for the i-Net+ and Network+ exams with the membership kit. I also just got a coupon for the Server+ exam in the mail, again 25% off. The discounts alone make it worthwhile.
A good practise test is Examdrill, but use it just prior to the exam as a final brush up.
