Author Passed 91% today.. plus, wanna share a question

2000-12-30, 3:02 am

Hi people, I just passed with 91% today. The exam is 95% similar to the braindumps, and notes available from this web... Got to thank anyone who contributed here ! I am going for CCNA next!!!

There is one question that I had never seen before, and I doubt whether I got them correctly.

1) You captured a packet in the network. Inside the packet, you found a password, you plan to use the password. What are you doing?

a)Spoofing
b)SYN attack
c)Ping attack
d)Man in middle

I don't know whether its a) or d), any suggestion?

Cheers
Bill

Congrats on passing you I-Net+ exam Bill! This must be one of the greatest New Year Gift for yourself.

Antonio. I passed my I-Net+ a month back. I use Sybex books and Boson Practice exams. Of course I wrote my own CramNotes for this exam too, check them out. It might help.

Congrats Bill! All that hard work pays off, doesn't it? The answer to your question is covered by Sybex as spoofing.
Hey Antonio, I used Sybex and McGraw Hill books to pass. Don't give up, its worth the time, energy, and money. Good luck on your next try.

Well, the technical answer is spoofing. I'd also call it committing a crime, but that's just me. ;-)

Man in the Middle is also called Bucket Brigade. From whatis.com:

bucket brigade

A bucket brigade attack is one in which the attacker intercepts messages in a public key exchange and then retransmits them, substituting their own public key for the requested one, so that the two original parties still appear to be communicating with each other directly. The attacker uses a program that appears to be the server to the client and appears to be the client to the server. The attack may be used simply to gain access to the messages, or enable the attacker to modify them before retransmitting them. The term derives from the bucket brigade method of putting out a fire by handing buckets of water from one person to another between a water source and the fire. Another name for the bucket brigade attack is the more accurately descriptive name, man-in-the-middle, based on the ball game where a number of people try to throw a ball directly to each other while one person in between them attempts to catch it.

Congrats on passing!

Took the test today and opted for spoofing. Think I got it right?
