What makes you so sure it is ATM Helan?According to http://www.webopedia.com T3 lines are being used mainly as backbones.
I looked up all my mistakes on my exam, answered T3, and could find no clue that I gave the wrong answer.

The answer is ATM!!! The Internet backbone was T3 lines 5-10 years ago. Now it is ATM with bandwidth in the OC48 range. T3's still form the backbones for private networks NOT the Internet. T3=44.736Mbps (too small for Internet traffic)
