Author How I passed the Eam (with 88%)

2000-06-16, 12:53 pm

On Wednesday I passed the I-Net exam. I took me all of 15 minutes to complete the test! Almost every question I had WAS already answered in the dumps in this forum or in the practice test at: www.angelfire.com/az2/examslam/index.html.

I started with the Sybex "I-NET+ Study Guide" and last month I found this forum and then the "examslam" listed above.

I reviewed the dumps here and went through the "examslam" 5 times.

Almost ALL the questions on the real test are word-for-word on the "examslam", enough of them to pass!
In many cases I had the answer within 1 to 5 seconds of seeing the question, remembering them instataneously from the "examslam"!

Whatever you do, Do NOT use the use the "i-net+ Test yourself Practice Exams" by SYNGRESS/OSBORNE. I wasted $30.00+ on this one. It has almost nothing to do with the REAL I-NET+ exam. It only makes you realize how little you know and will destroy your confidence in your capacity to pass the real test. I struggle though that book before I found this forum and realized I was indeed ready for the test.

In conclusion to GUARANTEE your success, I recommend: The Sybex "I-NET+ Study Guide" (you still need to know the subject at hand), use the dumps in this forum and go through the examslams at: www.angelfire.com/az2/examslam/index.html

I agree. All I used was the Sybex book, and I got an 87. When I took the exam, however, that was the only Study Guide for it that I could find!

thanks Joed

encouraging to hear that you think the Sybex book is the way to go. I have just ordered it so can't wait to get stuck into it.

Watch out for David Groth - hes not the best author out there. I remember I started reading his A+ certification book and the guy started out with DOS memory management!!!!!! My jaw dropped. Thank God for Michael Meyers and the "few" that can actually write a book properly and make sense.

Actually, I like David Groth's books a lot, but you are correct -- he had the DOS memory management section in the part of the book that was supposed to be for the Core module. he could organise his books a bit better.

I read the Sybex book along with struggling through that horrid "i-net+ Test yourself Practice Exams" book. Nothing else was available. I found the Sybex book to be lacking in some areas and some protocols/terms were not even in the book that were on he exam (I went back and checked). I will post a brain dump on Friday. I have about 30 Q's to post from the exam--mainly the ones I missed. Got a 63. Will try again Next week. This group is GREAT!

oh my god - dont ever get the "Test Yourself" books - they are confusing and just lower your self esteem because they are so hard. The test wont be so difficult - get Exam Cram.
