Free on-line i-net+ exam

|
| I look high and low for info to make these exams to help me study and past and help me make my way to certification nirvana.
Please think of these on line exams as betas until I get enough feedback to make the needed changes. I'm allowed research time at my job and I can use that time to study so I go to my web site and I take the on-line exams that have posted there. I really do appreciate it when people take the exams and then point out the errors. I helps me and keeps me honest. I just posted the latest update to the exam which is up to 100 questions. All made from research and braindumps. I'm putting together new exams all the time. www.angelfire.com/az2/examslam/index.html | |
|
| Great questions and answers; I recommend everyone go and download the inet.zip file it has 100 questions to practice from. Go get it now, go go, quit sitting here... go, i tell you.
| |
|
| questions are great, but there's a problem with your link to the 100 question download.

1) Based on speed and cost, which Internet bandwidth link type would be the best choice for a small ISP serving 100 dial-up users?
56K *

T3
ATM
My ?: Why 56K, if Iīm an ISP, shouldnīt there be a better, faster technic to use. I mean, 100 customers and one small modem???
2)In order to be an e-commerce server, a computer must offer what services?
Credit card Autentication
Directory Queries
Virtual shopping cart services *
My ?: Why is that the best answer?
What is Microsoft's preferred server-side scripting language called?

| If your having a problem downloading the file from the Exam Slam site, be sure to turn off your download manager; ie, GrtRight, Godzilla or what ever you use. The server does not support them. Still updating the exam.
I regard to the question about what connection would be best for an ISP with 100 subscribers? A T1 would be excellent but if you balance the cost against what 100 people would pay ($20x100= $2000) and a T1 is not cheap, where is the profit? How can you afford to subscribe 100 users to a T1? This is not a real world question. What ISP would start up with a 56K connection? Yes, the question is a little ambiguous like many of the questions are on the actual test. | |

| Love the site, great help. I just finished the OnLine Exam #2 and have some questions:
Below are listed the questions to which I disagree with your answers.
Which of the following is used to start List Items?
LI
UL
OL
P
OL delineates the list to be ordered,
LI delignates the the items in the list
On another question you state that UL starts an unnumbered list.
Why is OL incorrect??
------------------------------------------------------
How would you logon to a FTP site on a page that requires a username and password?
username@password:ftp.xxxx.xxx
username assword :ftp.xxxx.xx
username:Password@ftp.xxxx.xxx
username@Password@ftp.xxxx.xxx
You list the answer as b, but c seems more correct in a Browser
---------------------------------------------------------
Which class of addressing is reserved for futures use?
D
C
E
F
your answer is E, which is reserved for testing.
there is no class reserved for future use, hence IPv6.
---------------------------------------------------------
A device used as a portal to and from the internet is known as what?
router
gateway
hub
proxy
"this is a terrible question."
As you and I well know a gateway and a proxy are both correct.
----------------------------------------------
What type of encryption uses one key for both encryption and decryption?
Asymmetric
Symmetric
One - way
None of the above
Your answer is Asymmetric which uses one key to encrypt and a second to decript.
The correct answer is symmetric which uses the same key to both encrypt and decrypt.
-----------------------------------------------------
What does URL stand for?
Uniform Resource Locator
Unlimited Resource Locator
Universal Resource Locator
Your answer to the is question is Universal Resource Locator.
The correct answer is Uniform Resource Locator
thanks for the test, it surely helps.

| To reply to Lakrits question:
2)In order to be an e-commerce server, a computer must offer what services?
Credit card Autentication
Directory Queries
Virtual shopping cart services *
My ?: Why is that the best answer?
Typically, a shopping cart is the interface between a company's Web site and its deeper infrastructure, allowing consumers to select merchandise; review what they have selected; make necessary modifications or additions; and purchase the merchandise.
----------------------------------------
What is Microsoft's preferred server-side scripting language called?
VBScript *
Active Server Pages (ASP)
My ?: I thought ASP was Microsofts prefferd server-side scripting language .. am I wrong?
No you are not wrong in my opinion.
-------------------------------------------
6)If you want to have secure communications on your intranet, what must you implement in order to create your own key pairs?
Certificate Server
VPN *
My?: I just need someone to explain this.
virtual private network, a network that is constructed by using public wires to connect nodes. For example, there are a number of systems that enable you to create networks using the Internet as the medium for transporting data. These systems use encryption and other security mechanisms to ensure that only authorized users can access the network and that the data cannot be intercepted.
The most common use of a digital certificate is to verify that a user sending a message is who he or she claims to be, and to provide the receiver with the means to encode a reply.

* * * * * *
According to SYBEX N+ Study Guide, Class E is reserved for experimental purposes.
"A value greater than 223 indicates a reserved address".
127 is a loopback test address, hence 127.0.0.1.
I would stay with Class E as the answer.

| Thankīs BobCat ! Iīm taking the test in two hours ... Iīm nervous. | |

| voyager,
I think the "reserved" statement referres to the addresses being reserved for experimentation.
Quote "http://www.3com.com/nsc/501302.html"
In addition to the three most popular classes, there are two additional classes. Class D addresses have their leading four-bits set to 1-1-1-0 and are used to support IP Multicasting. Class E addresses have their leading four-bits set to 1-1-1-1 and are reserved for experimental use.

| Thanks BobCat,
I've resaerched the questions you had pointed out and made the changes to the ones that were wrong. I changed the one of the answers on the question...What device can be used as a portol? Proxy is no longer a choice.
I've researched class E ip addresses and it tells me that they are reserved for future use.
What type of encryption uses one key for both encryption and decryption?
Asymmetric
Symmetric
One - way
None of the above
You were also correct on this one.
Correct! Symmetric Encryption is an Encryption algorithm where the same key is used for both Encryption and Decryption. The key must be kept secret, and is shared by the message sender and recipient.
Wrong! Asymmetric Encryption is a form of Encryption where keys come in pairs. What one key encrypts, only the other can decrypt.
The wording on the HTML questions have also been changed but, the answers came from the html tutorial on examnotes.com.
Would you happen to know the first two entries on MIME email?
Thanks again and good luck on the test.

| Phantom309,
Not sure what the question "Would you happen to know the first two entries on MIME email?" is asking. Do you have an example?
Don't agree with the class E thing, but if that is the answer they are looking for, so be it.
Thanks for the test by the way. In checking the answers I have learned so much.

| BobCat,
I beleive what they are aking is what are the first two entries in the header of a MIME type email. This was reported as a question seen on the exam.
Anyone?

| Phantom,
Just finished the Beta again, and the 100 Q test. the beta looks much better. The 100Q test raise some concerns below:
In order to be an e-commerce server, a computer must offer what services?
File transfer
Credit card authenication
Directory queries
Virtual shopping cart services
Your answer is Credit Card Authentication.
In the Beta test the correct answer is Virtual Shopping Cart,
I commented on this earlier.
---------------------------------------
Configuring a router to advertise routes that either don't
exist or aren't where they say they are is known as what
kind of an attack?
Man-in-the-middle
Ping Flood
SYN Flood
Spoofing
Not quite sure how Spoofing is the correct answer,
but none of the others fit either.
---------------------------------------------
What TCP/IP protocol can be used fro directory access?
LDAP
FTP
TCP
NNTP
FRO? Typo
-------------------------------------
Which is the least secure?
Internet
Extranet
Intranet
VPN
Your answer is Extranet, can you giver the rational please?
I would think Internet would be least secure.
---------------------------------------------
Correct!
Your score is 81%.
Questions answered correctly first time: 83/100
I would assune from this report I skipped a question,
or is there a math bug?

The first line is the MIME version. The second line is the content type. I can't find an example right now but there is another post on this board with an example when I explained this question before.

| You create a web site and it works in your browser. A customer views the site and it appears cluttered. You verified that he has the same browser version that you have. What would cause the problem?
a.The web server badly handled the page
b.You did not test the site on different browsers.
c.?
d.?
I would like to put this question in the beta test but I need some more input. All that I can find is that you should always test the page in different browsers prior to posting it but the question states that the user has the same version of browser. I'm thinking the key word here is "cluttered". What would cause the page to be cluttered?
Thanks in advance.

Hmm.. That sounds wacky. Since the browsers are the same, I'd say the web server somehow mucked up the page layout when it was reading the HTML code. Maybe refreshing would help. Wacky I say.

| Phantom309:
Thanks for the sample exam... You've put a lot of good work into it!
Please consider the following suggestions/ questions... If my reasoning is wrong, please let me know:
Exam Q: A user with a 128 kbps isdn modem will take about how many seconds to download a 100k file?
A 30 sec
B 3 sec
C 15 sec
D 8 sec
You have the answer as B - 3 seconds.
Shouldn't the answer be item D - 8 sec. Reason: (100 kbytes x 8 bits) / 128 kbits = 6.25 seconds.
Exam Q: Which is a server side script?
A Perl
B Java
C C++
D HTML
You have item C - C++ as the correct one. Shouldn't it be A - Perl. Perl is a server side script. C++ is a compilable language... It is not a script.
Exam Q: Which of the following would be the easiest ways to add search capabilities to your web site?
A Site Map
B Search Engine
C Index Server
You have C - Index Server as the correct answer. Shouldn't A - Site Map be the easiest way. Please explain.
Thanks.

| JBAXONE,
Thanks for the corrections. The revised questions have been changed and will be posted tonight after I get off work.
BobCat,
Congrats on the test and thanks for the new questions. I've added them to the beta and it is now 76 questions.
A lot of people have emailed me and told me that they have enjoyed the exam. Over fifty questions on the actual exam are now on the two pratice tests. Thanks goes to this site and all people who post to it.

| JBAXONE/Phantom,
The question:

A 30 sec
B 3 sec
C 15 sec
D 8 sec
You have the answer as B - 3 seconds.
Shouldn't the answer be item D - 8 sec. Reason: (100 kbytes x 8 bits) / 128 kbits = 6.25 seconds.
JBAXONE makes an assumption that 100k file is really a 100KB file. In my travels around the industry small k means bits and upper K means bytes. A simular question was on my test yesterday, and the question clearly stated 7000 BYTES over 56kbps connection. I would change the wording to put to bed any discussion.
Thanks Phantom. Good luck with the study aid

| Bobcat,
How was the i-net+ exam? Would you say it's more difficult than the A+ exams? I would like to take the exam in place of the CIW foundations, like killing 2 birds with one stone. Getting the i-net+ certification and taking a 1D0-4xx exam to become CIWP.

| JoJo,
If you have gotten thru Network Essentials then you have 1/2 the info. I took an A+ prep course (company paid) and have worked with hardware and dos/win3.11/win95 for YEARS. The A+ test was a breeze for me.
I worried about the Inet+ test because I have very limited "Web type stuff" exposure and have never coded in HTTP, Java, etc. The practice test of Phantom and the Net Essentials knowledge will get you through the test I am sure.
Good Luck
BobCat
PS when you register for the test tell the contact that you have a coupon Promo code ACNICP and you will get a 25% discount.

C)Lowest common resolution was not used
Page was badly handled by server.

If you only could choose one answer, then the correct choice should be LI which stands for List Item. OL and UL merely defines which type of list you plan to use. Nothing shows up until you start the list with the LI tag. Verified this answer in a couple of my HTML texts that I have on hand.
Hope this helps.
