Author Quick question

2000-06-06, 11:39 pm

I'll be taking the exam tomorrow 8am. I have one question. This was posted on here before but I don't think there was an answer.
You create a web site and it works in your browser, a customer views the site and it appears cluttered. You verified that they have the same browser version that you have, what would cause the problem? some possible answers:
The web server badly handled the page
you did not test the site on different browsers

Any help, thanks

Previously discussions on this questions are:

Phantom309: I would like to put this question in the beta test but I need some more input. All that I can find is that you should always test the page in different browsers prior to posting it but the question states that the user has the same version of browser. I'm thinking the key word here is "cluttered". What would cause the page to be cluttered?

AdamR: Hmm.. That sounds wacky. Since the browsers are the same, I'd say the web server somehow mucked up the page layout when it was reading the HTML code. Maybe refreshing would help. Wacky I say.

Bobcat: I also saw this question and could not figure out what they were asking. I would not include the question in its present form.

KIM since we have only 2 answers shown.

If there is one suggesting different operating systems---such as MAC versus Windows may have caused it, one may consider that be a probable answer.

Hope Phantom may have a report back from his exam and shed light on this.

Good luck with your exam tmw.

Yeah, the question was on the exam and I answered that the page was not checked out in other browsers. I honestly could not tell you if I got the question right or wrong but I did score a 94 on the exam and that is about three or four wrong answers and it could have been one of them. Do Not, I repeat, Do Not take this exam with out going over the practice exams on my site. You'll be so glad you did'nt.

Good luck on the exam.
