Author We have moved.

2000-05-07, 11:47 am

We have moved our site to a new server.

There could be some problems associated with the move.

The main problem is that some of the visitor may still get to the old board, while most of the visitors will be getting to the new server.

We will configure the old server so that people will not be able to add any more posts to it.

This is because it takes a few days for all DNS servers to update.

Another possible problem is that if you have registered in the last couple of days, using our old server, and now are trying to post to this new server, you will not be able to post because your ID and password are on the old server.

If that's the case, just go ahead and register again.

People who have registered more than 3 days ago should not have any problems posting to the new board. We have transferred the user database to the new server.

You will not be able to tell the difference between the old and the new board just by looking at it.

Thing will stabilize in a few days, when all DNS servers have been updates.

We hope that the new server will have better responce and faster connection.

So that's why all of the posts from 5/6 are gone? There were like 3 posts, a couple I replied to. Then later that day, they were gone! o.O

That's the reason. Your replies are on the old board.

It would not make sense to synchronize the old board with the new one now because then the pasts from the old board will override the ones on the new board.

Sorry about your posts on May 6

If you want you can reply again

Things will get back tonormal now. The new host -a Verio company seems to be better for a busy site like examnotes.

Can we see the posts from the old board? I mean, I really can't remember what was posted on the 6th.
