Author Passed today

Just passed with a 83 - test as reported by others was badly worded and many questions seemed like more then one answer was correct.

For study materials I used Sybex, examnotes and also cramsession - used the practice exams provided by sybex (book w/cd) the ds technical demo questions as well as the questions here at examnotes. Many of the questions on the exam were not covered in detail by the Sybex book - I'd say a majority of the more confusing questions were answered based on real world experience.

Ok, now for some of the material I was presented with on the exam:

I had one question that stated what CSS stands for: two answers were completely off - and I narrowed it down to 3)Cascading style sheets 4)Comercial secured server.

Problem with this question was that either 3 or 4 is correct. Had the question stated, what is CSS in web design terminology? - answer 3 would be correct. If it stated, what is CSS in a server/internet capacity number 4 would be correct. However, the question simply asked "What does CSS mean?"
- very strange

Had about 4 or 5 questions of default ports:
HTTP - 80
FTP - 21
Tenet- 23
SMTP - 25

Had a question regarding the syntax of a URL:
http//:www.comtia.org:80

Had a question about the depth resolution of Jpeg's with the possible answers being:
8 bit
24 bit
32 bit
48 bit

Had some question regarding setting up a "dumb terminal" to provide web browsing capabilities and what would you add to the workstation:

There was 4 choices - but I think I picked the one stating to set up the pc with a web browser client with a connection to the HTTPd
The other 3 answers seemed way off with no relation to the question

Had one question regarding a company network using IPX and NetBEUI and wanting to implementing internet access without massive protocol reconfiguration - how would you accomplish this with the least effort:
One answer was TCP/IP - which would require more configuration - I believe it was a gateway (my answer) which would provide protocol translation. The two other answers provided didn't make sense in relation to the question.

Had THAT question about providing an international company's email with encrytion technology - and what would be the best choice: PGP was my answer

Had several questions about denial of service attacks and Syn flooding - know the differences

Had a question about being able to analyze packets on the network and 4 choices were given - know various utilities: netstat and protocol analyzers were among the choices

Had a question about determining the MAC address of a workstation - ARP

Had another question about e-commerce - setting up a merchant services system was my answer among the choices provided.

Had several questions on various connection types and speeds: know T1/E1, T3, DSL and OC-1 and OC-3 speeds.

Actually had 2 questions on the AT modem commands - one question was ATD (dial) and another question was reset (ATZ)

Nothing on default subnet masks or IP addresses.

Had one question regarding DNS servers and the mail server record entries: answer MX

Had one question on HTML - very simple - it asked which of the following is not essential for a web page:
<HTML>
<BODY>
<TEXTAREA>
<TITLE>
my answer was <TEXTAREA>

Had several questions on CGI scripts: one was regarding Perl and C - know differences and details.

Had a question regarding "cookies" being stored on the client as unencrypted form - that was my answer among the choices

Had maybe 1 or 2 question regarding copyright
in relation to web publishing - one question was about images and it's legal use in relation to "watermarks"

Had the question about which graphic format supports transparencies? - GIF89a was my answer. Nothing on TIFF, PNG or PDF type files.

Ok that's all I can remember for now - totally burned out - I had studied for this exam for two weeks using the materials I mentioned above. Like I said Sybex didn't really cover much of the material that I found more difficult - However, it was adequate coupled with my former knowledge to get by with a passing score. Hopefully, more
practical study materials (books) will be available soon (exam cram..etc)

Anyway people, best of luck with the test and I hope some of the details I have provided helps in some way!

Peace

Had a question about the depth resolution of Jpeg's with the possible answers being:

24 bit
32 bit
48 bit

I have been trying to get info on i-net+ exam and out of all the people that gave the most incite on the test was Necro from ny. He went into details not like alot of people who pass the test and suddently went brain dead after the exam. From what i here the test is badly worded and if you don't have the experience you will not pass, or it would be very difficult. There is not enough study material out there now. I guess by May there will be enough when examcram book are release. We are all here to learn and to get experience here on examnotes so share your experience and help others out. We don't need to be Ignorant about things here. In some cases here on examnotes i find that there are people that are here to promote other books here like sybex inet+ because why would you buy a inet+ book when none of the material is not on the exam. If its not in the book then it can only be shared with experiences and experience people. We need to share our experiences in the field. How did you resolve a problem or impliment a client site. What did it take to resolve the task. Then in my opinion every one here can gain experiences here to pass the test and even be a effective and efficient at there work place.

Had a question about the depth resolution of Jpeg's with the possible answers being:
8 bit
24 bit
32 bit
48 bit

Baseline JPEG stores images with 8 bits per color sample, in other words 8 bits/pixel for gray scale, 24 bits/pixels for RGB images, and 32 bits/pixel for CMYK.
JPEG provides 32 bits photolike quality

My answer is 32 bits
