| Walked out of the exam centre this morning with a 980 (98%)!
No cheats used here. Pure knowledge of the topic (and wow is the topic large!).
Here are a couple of examples:
How many Web-safe colours are available to design and create web graphics?
a) 16
b) 256 *
c) 1024
d) 256,000
What file format is used for web animation?
a) GIF87A
b) JPEG
c) PNG
d) GIF89A *
What can be affected by a virus?
a) Bridge
b) Hub
c) NIC
d) Gateway *
What single-key encryption method is used to encrypt and decrypt a message?
a) Asymmetric *
b) Hash
c) Public
d) Symmetric
What is true of a copyright notice?
a) Is essential
b) Does not need to be displayed
c) Strictly optional but highly recommended *
d) Displayed on the first page only
Not much else I can remember except that they give you MORE than enough time for the 73 questions so take your time and go over your answers BEFORE hitting that FINISH button.
Thanx a million to EXAMNOTES.NET and CRAMSESSION.COM. You guys are doing a cool job!

I'm a bit surprized that 216 was not one of the choices, which is definetely the correct answer.
My advice to everyone who get this question:
If 216 is not one of the options, go with 256, if 216 is one of the options, choose 216.
As a webmaster, I can be absolutely sure that Browser-safe pallete contains 216 colors.
Also, I may be wrong, but I think that "single key encription" is Symmetric, and not Asymmetric.
Asymmetric refers to "public key" encryption.

| You are not wrong.
Asymmetric => Public + private key (Public to encrypt, private to decrypt)
Symmetric => Single key (same for encrypt/decrypt)
As for those fudging copyright questions, they all look a little dodgy to me. Also when they start talking about Library of Congress and such, they´re just pooping on international examinees like myself. (sWeedISH)

| I passed the test today with a 93% on my first try. I used the practice tests here and from DS Technical Solutions (www.ds-technical.com) and the study guides from here and Cramsession.
About half of the questions were easy, about 1/4 were "gee, I'm glad I studied this," and about 1/4 were "that's vague and I wonder where it came from." Keep in mind that I've already tested Network+, TCP/IP, Networking Essentials, and generally I test well.
Things I remember being asked: Copyright, cookies, OC line speed, ATM, browser safe colors, single key encryption, browser error 404, several Javascript questions, TCP, FTP, Telnet, ICMP, "what class is this IP address," DNS entries, viruses, security attacks (syn attack, spoofing, how to prevent), E-commerce system, EDI, certificate servers. |
