| Which is better for a web business presentation?

Shockwave
This question comes up in my book and in examdrill III. The answer is Shockwave. Isn't that kind of a matter of opinion or is there a good reason?

• Flash - From Macromedia. Allows you to create vector-based web sites.
• Shockwave - From Macromedia to elaborate animation with sound and basic interactivity in Web page. Plug-in needed from Macromedia in order for web browser to view.

use?

Flash - Vector graphics
Acrobat - PDF
QuickTime VR - 3D graphics in Quicktime format

| When I was researching the answers to these multimedia type questions, I felt exactly the same way. It seemed like it would be a matter of opinion, but in reality, I think if a person has some experience working with multimedia, on web sites, they would have specific reasons for choosing each one.
As I recall, flash is for vector graphics, which have a significantly smaller file size and thus, a faster download time than GIF, PNG, or even JPEG.
Shockwave has animation, sound, and interactivity. This makes it useful for games, contests, and probably business presentations. It depends on exactly what the presentation needs to do, but I would assume some interactivity would be desired.
On the actual exam, the question about streaming video may have both Shockwave and Real Player as a choice. This is confusing, because when researching these questions, I found that the most recent versions of Shockwave offer comparable features to Real Player. Like so many of CompTIA's questions, this one appears to have more than one correct answer. You need to try put yourself in a real life situation to figure what they are looking for.
After checking all the sources I could find, I concluded Real Player is what CompTIA is looking for. The reason is because Real Player is the established technology for streaming video. This means a lot of your visitors will already be able to use Real Player, but they may not have the ability to use Shockwave.
