Author i-net vs. network+

i'm planning to take the i-net exam...but i'm not sure if i should take the network+ first. the only reason why i want to take the i-net exam first is because i work as a support for an internet company and it seems pretty easy to me..but i heard that it's better to take the network+ first. well, here's my plan: take the i-net by reading the self-study guide and go to school for the network+.... any suggestions?

As somebody who also worked in tech support at an Internet company, I can say the I-Net+ would be a great certification to have to help in your daily work as well as give you some leverage over your coworkers. As I study the material now, a few years after leaving that job, I am amazed at how much of the material would have been directly applicable. Plus, I think it could be a good intro to the Network+ exam. Although, I'm going out on a limb here since I did not take it.

I say try out the i-Net first, see how you do without formal training, then consider the Network test. If your job pays for that training, great. But if you have to pay yourself, I don't know if it would be worth it. Keep in mind these are just the opinions of a former ISP techie, so take it or leave it.

hmmmmmm... it is a tough question to answer without knowing you better. I usually recommend taking Net+ first because it is 1/3 of the Inet+ curriculum. Also, think about exam drill to train with (www.mcsefreak.com/examdrill.htm)
