I think you are better off start doing the Win2000 track before you start doing any CISCO, In my point of view, this is how I did mine, A+, MCP, MCSE ver 3.51,MCSE ver4.0 NET+,CNA, CNE, CNX, and now I am doing my i-Net+, the only I am doing the i-Net+ it's because it will NEVER retire.

I would agree with the previous poster, but I guess it depends. Do you want to stay in the ISP/Internet field? If you do, then Cisco certs will be more helpful than Microsoft's. But if you would like to have a broader idea of what is going on in the computer world, and would enjoy becoming a network engineer/consultant, then the MCSE is a must. It all depends on what blows your hair backwards

Thanks for replying guys .

What i really need to know is this : Is it worth going for the 2000 track if i haven't that much experience in using NT4 , Does the 2000 only cover win2000 or does it still refer back to Nt . isn't it true that most companies won't be upgrading to win2000 for a while ??
Just wish they werent retiring NT exams .
Thanks
Evan

Here are my suggestions... I you want to stay desktop support, LAN, (small environmennt) get your MCSE, and Novell Certs. If you want to get into WAN technologies (Big Bucks!) get into CISCO certs. Or do what you enjoy. I personally am really enjoying LAN support but would like to get more into WAN stuff that's why i'm gonna be getting my CCNA soon... well after Net+ anyway.

To hell with this Get your MCSE 2000 first, then go for Cisco, and name your price on the marketplace.
